On February 17, 2025, Delta Connection Flight 4819, operated by Endeavor Air, experienced a crash landing at Toronto Pearson International Airport. The aircraft, a Bombardier CRJ900LR, was en route from Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport to Toronto. Upon landing at approximately 2:15 p.m. local time, the plane overturned on the runway, coming to rest upside down. All 80 occupants—76 passengers and four crew members—were evacuated safely, with no fatalities reported. However, 19 individuals sustained injuries, including three in critical condition, among them a child (Associated Press, 2025).

The incident occurred amid challenging weather conditions, characterized by strong winds and blowing snow. While the exact cause of the accident remains under investigation, these adverse weather conditions are being considered as potential contributing factors (Associated Press, 2025). The Transportation Safety Board of Canada is leading the investigation, with assistance from the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board (The Times, 2025).

In response to the crash, emergency services, including Peel Paramedics and ORNGE air ambulance, promptly arrived at the scene. Three ORNGE helicopters were dispatched to assist in transporting the critically injured to local hospitals (Associated Press, 2025). The airport temporarily suspended all arrivals and departures following the incident, resuming operations later in the day (Wall Street Journal, 2025).

This event marks the first major incident at Toronto Pearson International Airport since 2005 (Wall Street Journal, 2025). It also adds to a series of aviation mishaps in North America over the past month, raising concerns within the aviation community (Associated Press, 2025).
